Stepsterz ("we", "us") is an iPhone game where your real steps power fights. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have. Stepsterz is run by Mohamed MANAI, an individual based in France, who is responsible for your data (the "controller" under the GDPR). Questions: contact@mothandesign.com.
What we collect
- Waitlist email. If you join the waitlist on this website, we store your email address and the date you signed up.
- Account. When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive an account identifier and, if you share it, your email address.
- Profile. Your username, title, chosen Stepster, daily step goal and time zone.
- Steps. With your permission, the app reads your step count from Apple Health and the iPhone's motion sensor. We only read step counts; we never write to Apple Health and never read other health data.
- Game progress. Levels, fights, rewards, currencies and battle pass progress.
- Notifications. If you allow notifications, a device token so we can send game reminders, and your notification settings.
How we use it
- To run the game: turn steps into damage, save your progress and settle each day's level.
- To show the public ranking: other players see your username, your Stepster and your level. Nothing else.
- To send the notifications you turned on.
- To send one email when the alpha opens, if you joined the waitlist.
We do not sell your data, show ads, or share step data with advertisers or data brokers. Health data is never used for marketing.
Who processes it
- Supabase hosts our database and servers.
- Apple provides Sign in with Apple, Apple Health and push notifications.
- Google provides Sign in with Google.
How long we keep it
Account and game data are kept while your account exists. Waitlist emails are kept until the alpha invite is sent or you ask us to remove yours.
Your choices
- Delete your account any time in the app (Settings → Delete Account). This permanently deletes your account and game data.
- Stop step access in iOS Settings → Health → Data Access & Devices → Stepsterz.
- Turn off notifications in the app or in iOS Settings.
- Leave the waitlist or ask for a copy of your data by writing to contact@mothandesign.com.
Under the GDPR, you have the right to access, correct, export or delete your data, to restrict or object to its use, and to complain to the CNIL (cnil.fr) or your local data protection authority.
Children
Stepsterz is not meant for children under 13 (16 in some countries), and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date above and tell you in the app when the change matters.
